The West Nile virus has been found in another trap in Oxford County. A mosquito trap in Woodstock has been the second to test positive for West Nile. The first was in Ingersoll last month. Oxford County Public Health & Emergency Services is increasing mosquito surveillance and has begun larvaciding public catch basins to help control the mosquito population. Remember to protect yourself against mosquito bites by using a bug spray with DEET and wearing light-coloured clothing, long sleeves and pants at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are most active. You can also reduce mosquito breeding grounds around the home by getting rid of outside standing water.
