Charges Laid in Blandford-Blenheim Drug Bust

Police seized over $2-million worth of cannabis and stolen goods while searching a property on Oxford Road 29 in Blandford-Blenheim on Tuesday.

BLENDFORD-BLENHEIM - Five people have been charged in a massive drug bust in Blandford-Blenheim.

Oxford OPP found over 1,300 cannabis plants and over 300 pounds of processed cannabis while searching a property on Oxford Road 29 on Tuesday. Officers also seized firearms, a stolen vehicle and suspected cocaine, hashish and cannabis resin.

All of the seized items have a combined value over $2,000,000.

Officers arrested two people from Drumbo; 57-year-old Ronald Lesperance and 54-year-old Evelyn Resendes. They have both been charged with the following:

- Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest Any Cannabis Plant at a Place That is Not Their Dwelling-House
- Alter or Offer to Alter the Chemical or Physical Properties of Cannabis By The Use Of An Organic Solvent
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

Police also arrested a 62-year-old from Markham and a 23-year-old from Cambridge. They have both been charged with Cultivate, Propagate or Harvest Any Cannabis Plant at a Place That is Not Their Dwelling-House. The Cambridge man was also charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time with more charges pending. Anyone with information should contact the Oxford OPP.
