The average homeowner in Oxford could see a $29 increase on the county's portion of their property taxes this year if County Council approves the proposed budget for 2023.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Council is about to approve the budget for 2023.
Council will look over the proposed budget and business plans during their meeting at 9:30 a.m. today.
This includes an $84.1-million capital plan and a $70.6 million levy, which is a 6 percent increase compared to last year's levy. The proposed plan also sets aside $361,669 for grant requests from local organizations, over $67,000 more compared to the grant funding that was approved for 2022.
If Council approves the proposed budget, the average homeowner in Oxford would see a $29 increase on the county's portion of their property taxes this year. This is a 2.8 percent increase compared to last year.
