It's a discussion lots of people have been waiting for. Oxford County Council will finally look over the report from staff, recommending the County consolidate all water and wastewater services in Oxford.
WOODSTOCK/TILLSONBURG - The fate of water and wastewater services for Woodstock and Tillsonburg will be determined today.
County Council will be looking over a report from staff, recommending the County takeover all water distribution and wastewater collection services across Oxford. It says consolidating all water and wastewater services will be more efficient and cost effective.
Woodstock City Councillor Jerry Acchione is very against the idea because he believes it will result in a lack of service for residents, especially on evenings and weekends.
Director of Public Works David Simpson says the County has dedicated on-call staff members that deal with after hours water and wastewater calls. He says they respond to after hour emergency calls within 10 minutes.
