Doors Open Oxford and Woodstock runs on Saturday. The Woodstock Heritage Committee has chosen 11 venues this year that will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
WOODSTOCK - Everyone is invited to tour 11 historic buildings in Woodstock on Saturday for Doors Open.
Curator of the Woodstock Museum Karen Houston says Doors Open is Province Wide and it's put on by the Ontario Heritage Trust.
"The idea is, that it is a free event, where people get to look inside some of the heritage buildings in your community."
Houston says they will have volunteers stationed at all of the Doors Open locations.
"Because it is the Woodstock Heritage Committee who is putting on this event, we have volunteers set up at the 11 sites that are open for the event. The people will give them a little bit more background about the building and for businesses it is way that they can keep doing their regular activities and the guests can still get their information. So basically we will have yellow signs at each of these events, so people can identify that they are part of Doors Open. Also it coincides with the indigenous fall gathering at Museum Square, between the Art Gallery and the Museum and all three sites will have that as a focus."
Doors will be open from 10 am to 4 pm, accept at the Chateau la Motte Guest House, Bed and Breakfast which will have their Doors open from noon to 4:00 pm.
