Three local organizations have donated $125,000 to the brand new $13 million dollar Brant Community Health Hub being built in Paris.
PARIS - Donations are starting to come in for a new Health Hub in Paris, that will serve Brant County residents.
Mayor David Bailey says they're extremely grateful for the community support.
“We are so pleased to announce that donations are coming in. Of those who agreed to be publicly named, the Paris Lions Club has pledged $50,000, Pinevest Homes has pledged $50,000 and Pelton Bros Transport Ltd. has pledged $25,000. These are incredibly generous donations and take us one step closer to our fundraising goal.”
Fundraising efforts for the proposed Brant Community Health Hub started in February with the "Building a Healthy Community" campaign. They have set out a fundraising goal of $2 million to contribute to the project.
The new Health Hub will be located at 25 Curtis Street in Paris. It will offer a range of community health care services including family physicians, health care practitioners, community support agencies, health supplies and other health care and social services.
The project will cost $13 million dollars with $2 million coming from fundraising efforts. Construction started in August 2020 and it is expected to be completed this year. The building has sustainable features including a vegetated "green" roof, highly insulated building envelope, solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and energy efficient fixtures and equipment. Construction began August 2020 and is expected to be completed in 2021.
Naming opportunities are available and major donors will be recognized at the giving level on the Wall of Gratitude in the Health Hub.
