As we inch closer to Christmas, the Salvation Army is making one last call for donations.
WOODSTOCK - With five days before Christmas, the Salvation Army in Woodstock is looking for one last push.
They are asking for any last-minute donations, whether it be at the kettles, or food that will be used at their food bank.
Pastor and Director, Captain Kristen Gray says there is one coverage area in Oxford that is seeing lots of need this holiday season.
"Particularly in Norwich we have seen a significant increase in the number of families we are serving this Christmas. We are up about 20 percent."
She adds donations are on track for where they were last year, but as the needs grow, more donations will be needed.
"The money that we raise in the kettles at Christmas time, that is our major fundraising plan for the entire year. So the money that goes in the kettle is so important because it helps us provide programming and food security in our community all year around."
Gray wants to send a huge thank you to all who supported the Salvation Army over the Christmas season, as every donation helps.
