The total number of home sales in September down slightly but prices go up.
WOODSTOCK-INGERSOLL -- Home sales in the area saw another near record month in September.
118 units were sold in total with an average price of just over $251,000.
That's a 12.3 percent increase in price from the year earlier, even though the total number of homes sold was 4.8 percent lower than the same time last year.
Woodstock - Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board President William Cattle says "the downward trend in the supply of homes available for sale in the region combined with the ongoing strength of demand continues to exert upward pressure on prices."
New listings were up 2.9 percent on a year-over-year basis.
The value of all residential property sales amounted to $29.6 million last month which is up 6.9 percent from levels recorded a year earlier. This was a record dollar volume for the month of September.
Sales of all property types was 123 units, down 3.1 percent from the same month in 2013. The total value of all properties sold came in at $31.8 million which is a 12.4 percent increase compared to this time last year.
