5-time Juno Award winning guitarist, Liona Boyd is playing in Woodstock this weekend. She's performing at Marantha Church on Saturday night, which also includes a meet and greet at the Quality Hotel & Suites before the show. Boyd is in the midst of a mini-Ontario tour that sees her playing smaller communities. She says she enjoys playing more intimate shows. "We're not doing any of the major centres until next fall cause I have a record called 'The Return to Canada with Love' that's coming out next May. I love playing in the smaller towns. I'm really looking forward to it." Boyd has a number of projects on the go. The day before coming to Woodstock, she's shooting a video for her new Christmas single. "My Special Christmas Present to You" will be released on I-Tunes December 4th. It features 12-year-old Canadian YouTube sensation Marie Aragon, who was discovered by Lady Gaga. However, Boyd says her performance in the Friendly City on Saturday, will not be a Christmas show. "The program I'm doing in Woodstock has a lot of variety. It's not Christmasy, but we are celebrating Canada and it's all inspired by my return to Canada after 20-years away." Tickets to the concert are $35.
