Maggie Mac Neil has become Canada's first multi-medalist at the Tokyo Olympics after finishing first in the women's 100-metre butterfly.
TOKYO - It was an exciting night at the Oxford Drive In.
The London Aquatic Club cheered their very own Maggie Mac Neil as she won gold in the women's 100-metre butterfly last night. She finished the race in a time of 55.59 seconds.
The 21-year-old also won silver in the women's 4x100 freestyle relay on Sunday, which makes her Canada's first multi-medalist for the Tokyo Olympics.
Jessica Klimkait of Whitby won bronze in the women's under-57 kilogram category for Judo this morning. Canadian divers Jennifer Abel and Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu also won silver in the women's three-metre synchronized springboard over the weekend. This brings Team Canada's total medal count to four.
Congratulations to @mags_swims26 on winning #TeamCanada’s first #GoldMedal at #Tokyo2020 (and your second medal at these games). Your friends and family in #Woodstock and around #Ontario are very proud! #GoForGold #Olympics
