New rules are coming for the largely unregulated prepaid credit card market. Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has announced that from now on, issuers of prepaid cards won't be able to impose expiry dates. They must also plainly disclose any fees or service charges that diminish the face value of the card. The prepaid card sector has been criticized for having hidden fees.
