"Boiling water for 12 days kind of takes its toil on you, I got a 6 month old child, a lot of us have little kids, it is 23 units, that is 23 families without hot water, it's just crazy."
WOODSTOCK - Renters at an apartment complex at 908 Devonshire Ave have been living without hot water for the past 12 days.
Tenant Alicia Goodwin lives in the building with her six month old son. She says the landlord, York Properties out of London told her to just boil some water.
"My stove is running 24/7, in order to have a bath and I am not filling it up all the way, I have to boil freezing ice cold water and then run from the kitchen to the other side of my apartment, hopefully not injuring myself in the process or anyone else who might be near, just to fill my bathtub up with water. It is not an easy task by any means, I also have to boil water from dishes and all of the steam freezes our windows closed, which is probably a fire hazard in itself."
The landlord did tell Goodwin that a part is in the mail to replace the boiler. Goodwin says the boiler goes out all the time and that the people living in these apartments don't deserve this.

Goodwin says not having hot water is just one of several problems at the apartment complex. She says the residents don't have anyone to advocate for them.
"If there is any pro bono lawyers out there that maybe sees an opportunity to help 23 families, we would really, really appreciate it. We need help, we have no one to advocate for us, there is no on site staff, there is no one here for us."
