An off duty officer was quick to assist after witnessing a 17 year old male get thrown from a Sea Doo at Pot-a-hawk on Lake Erie yesterday.
NORFOLK - A 17 year old male from Oakville was air lifted to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries after being thrown from a Sea Doo.
Emergency responders were on scene immediately yesterday afternoon around 3:20 at Pottahawk at Turkey Point on Lake Erie to assist with the teen. An off duty officer witnessed the incident and acted quickly to bring him to shore.
With far too many recent tragedies on the water, Norfolk OPP is urging everyone to play safe this summer both on and off land.
Media Relations Officer, Constable Ed Sanchuk says the teen is lucky to be alive.
"The OPP need everyone to put their safety as a priority. If it hadn't been for the quick thinking actions of everyone involved, the outcome could have been a tragic one."
