Walker Environmental has decided to partner up with Stelco and General Motors in order to produce green energy.
Walker Environmental has teamed up with two major factories in order to promote green energy in the province.
In Hamilton, they will use recycled material to produce bio carbon, in order to replace coal in the coking process at Stelco.
Project Director Darren Fry talks about their other deal with General Motors.
"We will be processing landfill gas from our disposal facility in Niagara. We will be using this landfill gas to generate renewable electricity at the General Motors of Canada facility in St Catherines."
The St Catherines plant will become one of the lowest emissions GM facilities in the world.
Fry says we might be able to see some of this technology in action in our area.
"These technologies will be opportunities that will be further explored if this facility, the Southwestern Landfill in Oxford County is ultimately developed."
If approved the landfill would be constructed in Zorra Township.
Walker Environmental will be making a presentation at the Town of Ingersoll town council meeting tonight.
