A traffic stop in Crediton has led to multiple charges for one Woodstock man. After he was initially arrested for having unauthorized license plates on his car, Huron County OPP also found he had a small quantity of suspected fentanyl.
CREDITON - A 39-year-old Woodstock man is still custody after being connected to a traffic stop in South Huron.
Huron County OPP officers first patrolled in Exeter yesterday morning when they saw a car parked on the Main Street with unauthorized license plates.
The suspect vehicle was then found on King Street in Crediton. Police spoke with the driver and he was arrested for using unauthorized license plates and for driving with a suspended license. The accused also had small quantity of suspected fentanyl.
It was then revealed the accused failed to comply with a condition of a court release order as well, and the license plates were stolen from London.
Philip Walsh has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Fentanyl
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle
- Drive While Under Suspension.
The accused remains in custody and he is scheduled to appear in a Goderich courtroom on October 9th.
