Tillsonburg Running with the Bulls

Tillsonburg Running with the Bulls is a running event in Tillsonburg, Ontario on July 20, 2024 on the Trans Canada Trail. The purpose of my run is to have funds available for families struggling financially as a result of a cancer diagnosis.

My son (Nathan) was diagnosed with a very rare cancer just before Christmas 2023 and is currently being treated at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto after Victoria Hospital in London informed us there was nothing more they could do for him. I have seen, first hand, the financial struggles a family can incur as a result of medical expenses, lodging, travel, etc. It is an overwhelming experience to have. My goal is to be able to help out, even just a little bit, those families.

ALL funds raised (after expenses of t-shirts, insurance, medals etc.) will go directly back to families in financial crisis. It might even be as small as ensuring a child can continue with a sport, some sort of normalcy for that family to still have during such a trying time.

My event is insured through Athletics Ontario relieving any liability from the town, myself or anyone affiliated with my event. I have already been successful in obtaining sponsors to cover off the plus $20,000 cost of the event. My event offers a 5km and 10km run (total 300 participants) as well as a 1km kiddie trot (200 participants) Registrations for the 5km and 10km distances are paid entry but my kiddie trot I am offering for free to 200 participants.

My event will be chip timed and certified. The first run (10km) will begin at 8am and the final run (1km kiddie trot) will be at 10am (with the 5km distance in between).
