United Way Oxford kicked off its 12 Days of Giving campaign yesterday and it lasts until December 12th.
OXFORD COUNTY - The 12 Days of Giving are officially underway for United Way Oxford.
The holiday campaign kicked off yesterday and it will end on December 12th.
Each day has its own theme, so people can do something that benefits the community for each of the 12 days. Some of the days are simply donation-based, Resource Development Manager Amanda Kreiger says United Way will have the money earmarked for a specific cause.
"You can purchase an hour of mental health counselling and you can do things like eviction prevention to help someone facing eviction."
Kreiger adds some of the days involve donating items to a specific cause, while others involve simply donating your time.
"We also have ideas like listening to one of our Community Conversations to learn more about a topic. We also have Heart FM's Stuff the Bus campaign on there for one day so collect some children's toys."
It's Day 2 of the campaign, so everyone is encouraged to donate warm winter items like hats, mitts, and sleeping bags to Oxford Community Health Centre.
You can find more information about United Way's 12 Days of Giving campaign online here. You can also provide a Gift of Hope donation, where you donate to United Way in someone else's name as a Christmas present for them.
