RHI Canada and Carmeuse Lime issued fines following a January 2013 incident
RHI Canada and Carmeuse Lime have been ordered to pay $90,000 following an incident that left a worker with severe burns.
The incident dates back to January of 2013 at the Carmeuse Lime facility in the County.
According to the Ministry of Labour a worker was inside of a temporary shelter that was kept warm by a propane heater when the person's clothing caught on fire as a result of them standing too close to the heater.
The worker sustained second and third degree burns.
Both companies had pleaded guilty to failing to ensure that the heater was properly located and used.
