Strawberry season has officially hit Oxford County!
People of Oxford can get a sweet taste of summer as strawberries are officially ripe for the picking.
Sue Hillborn of Red Barn Berries says things really got started this week.
"So we started picking our first pick berries in large volumes on Monday and we will be picking every day now for probably five weeks. It is a monster crop and we will open for Pick Your Own on Friday the 16th."
A summer favourite, Hillborn is expecting a big, hungry crowd to come looking for strawberries.
"Well everyone loves strawberries and it's kind of the first big fruit of the year. And peas and raspberries are probably what's coming after strawberries, but we have a huge strawberry season ahead of us."
