
One person has died following a single vehicle crash on Prospect Hill Rd in Thames Centre this morning. This is the fourth person to die in 3 separate collisions over a 3 day period in Zorra Township and Thames Centre.
UPDATE: Police have released the identity of the deceased in the fatal crash as 43 year old Jose Rayo of London.

THAMES CENTRE - Another fatal crash in the region early this morning on Prospect Hill Road in Thames Centre.
Police say a car left the roadaway round 5:00 am today and hit a group of trees, resulting in catastrophic damage. The driver and lone occupant in the vehicle had to extricated by the jaws of life. They were taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries and then later pronounced deceased.
Prospect Hill Rd. was closed for approximately six hours today near Eight Mile Rd. for the police investigation. The roadway has since re-opened to the public.
The OPP are reminding the public that we must all do our part to ensure our roadways are safe. Please slow down, wear your seat belt, put away the phones and other distractions and never driver while impaired.
While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, police believe that speed was a factor in this collision.
This is the fourth person to die in a span of 3 days in OPP patrolled roadways in the region. A couple from Blenheim were killed in a crash in Zorra Township on Friday afternoon, and a 2 year old toddler died on Saturday night, also in Zorra Township.
