WOODSTOCK - Time is running out to apply for a position on the Woodstock Public Library Board.
The City of Woodstock is currently recruiting interested community members to sit on the board. Application deadline is Wednesday October 28th.
The Woodstock Public Library Board was established under provincial legislation and is responsible for the management and control of the Library. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Determining and adopting written policies to govern the operation and programs of the library
- Determining the goals of the library and securing adequate funds to fulfill these goals
- Understanding the library's programs and the needs of the community in relation to the library
- Establishing support and participating in planned public relations programs
- Preparing a budget adequate to carry out the library's goals and objectives and presenting it to municipal council.
