Construction is running behind schedule on the Plattsville Arena. And that's creating challenges for minor hockey and figure skating in the village. They've been renting ice time in New Hamburg and Paris to make up for the lack of a home rink. Blandford-Blenheim CAO, Fran Bell, says it will still be another 5-6 weeks to complete the project. "There's been some minor delays for various reasons. The anticipated completion date, at this point in time, is October 20th." However, once construction is complete, Bell says the improvements will make for an "excellent" facility. Dressing rooms are being moved from the upstairs to the main level, to make for a safer arena.
