
It started with a Woodstock Collegiate Institute student doodling on a coffee cup and ended in a partnership with Beantown.
WOODSTOCK - Customers of Beantown will notice a display of artwork at the establishment courtesy of Woodstock Collegiate Institute art students. WCI teacher Mrs. Stevens said the inspiration for a partnership developed one day in her art class.
"In class a student in my senior class had a cup of coffee and he just happened to do a quick doodle painting on it for no particular reason and then he showed it to me and I went "where did you get this cup from?" it's white and you can paint on it, that's awesome."
The rest is history, Stevens approached the owner of Beantown about partnering to display the art. Barista for Beantown, Janet Meadows says 50 cups were given to the art class and in return for their art they recieve a free cup of coffee.
Meadows said it's a pretty cool opportunity, "the talent is phenomenal, plus its a conversation piece here right, people come in here wondering what the story is."
