The Pioneer Rooms of Oxford Centre Committee looking to renovate their belfry before Canada Day

Plans are in the works to fix up the belfry at the Pioneer Rooms in Oxford Centre.
 
Chair of the Pioneer Rooms Committee, Wayne Buchanan says part of their restoration plan is to move the bell down inside the school structure so more people can enjoy it. 
 
"We hope to have the whole outside spruced up, the gardens redone and repainting and a general facelift outside as well. Work on the belfry hopefully will start late winter, early spring and be finished in time for Canada Day."
 
Buchanan says they have set aside eight thousand dollars for renovations to the belfry. 
 
Meanwhile the Pioneer Rooms of Oxford Centre are the latest recipient of a framed photo of Queen Elizabeth II.
 
MPP Ernie Hardeman presented the photo earlier this month at the renovated facility. 
 
Wayne Buchanan says the photo will help ensure the hall is up with a mandate from the government to ensure there is a photo of the queen in all public recreation facilities.
