Environment Canada is warning that strong winds, mixed with fresh snowfall this afternoon and evening will create near zero visibility on roadways in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow advisory and a special weather statement for most of the Southwestern region, including Oxford County.
Blowing snow is expected this afternoon an evening. This will create visibility issues on our local roadways. Blowing snow will be the most hazardous in open areas, such as along open fields.
Visibility could reach near zero at some points during the height of the snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Also consider postponing non essential trips.
Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
