
It was a busy weekend for the Woodstock Police to say the least, as they dealt with a bomb scare, reports of gun shots and a brief police pursuit that ended in charges for a 29 year London man.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police called in the OPP bomb unit on Friday evening, after responding to a call about a suspicious package or knapsack that was left at a local industrial factory.
The OPP Explosive Unit determined the package was not dangerous and did not contain explosives.

WOODSTOCK - Later that night, several people called police about gun shots being fired in the south end of the City.
Police rushed to the scene and found a motorcycle driver leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Police are still not certain on the exact cause of the noise. An investigation into this incident is ongoing.

WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police also responded to a two vehicle collision on Friday night at the intersection of Van Ave and Dundas Street.
Nobody was seriously injured in the crash and a 31 year old woman from the Friendly City is facing charges for impaired operation by drugs or alcohol.

WOODSTOCK - On Saturday Woodstock Police tracked down a London man who was driving around town in a Stolen Pickup.
Police say the man stole the truck from London on Saturday and drove it to Woodstock. Officers tracked him down and gave a brief pursuit, however they called off the chase for safety reasons.
Shortly after that, the man got into a single vehicle collision on Tecumseh Street. Officers immediately tracked him down and the 29 year old is facing the following the charges.
- Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime
- Dangerous Driving
- Flight from Police
- Prohibited Driving
- 5 counts of Fail to Comply with court orders
Further investigation revealed that at the time the suspect stole the vehicle in London, the owner of the pick-up, a 66 year old male, was injured as a result of an altercation to prevent the theft.
