The Bottle Drive for 3 year old Lincon Bechard of Ingersoll was a huge success.
INGERSOLL - The Bottle Drive for 3 year old Lincon Bechard was a huge success.
The bottle drive raised over $13,000 and the the family also received over $8,200 in cash donations. All together they raised a grand total of $21,462.50. The money will be used to purchase a wheel chair accessible van for Lincon and his family.
Family and friends were collecting bottles for two weeks at locations in the Town of Ingersoll, Brantford and London. Lincon is a happy little boy, but his life changed drastically when he had a stroke, brain injury at 14 months old. Lincon had to get an emergency decompressive craniotomy. He spent 2 months in the ICU and 1 month in rehabilitation and at first they said he wouldn't make it, and if he did, he wouldn't have much brain capacity.
Lincon's mom, Chloe Ribaric says he has done more than the doctors had thought, he still cannot walk but he can sit unassisted.
"He can't talk anymore, he makes lot's of noises, he can't make words though. He can't walk anymore, like he is an wheelchair and his vision is really impaired from it."
Ribaric wanted to thank everyone who helped by donating bottles, money and big thanks to the people who helped sort the bottles and set up collection sites.
