Hydro One is reminding everyone that it is legally required and could potentially save your life to have underground utilities located before digging or starting any outdoor project.
OXFORD COUNTY - With Stay at Home Orders in place, many people will be doing work on their homes.
With this in mind Hydro One is reminding everyone to have their underground utilities located before digging or stating any outdoor project.
Over 1/3 of Canadians have completed or are planning to complete home renovations during the pandemic according to a recent TD Bank report. Everyone is encouraged to call the Ontario One call before doing any digging. The service is available 24/7 and can prevent potential power outages, personal injury or even the loss of life.
It is actually illegal to start doing a project with digging without making this request. Many people do not know this and last year their were still 4,566 reported damages last year in Ontario.
You can visit OntarioOneCall.ca for more information or call 1-800-400-2255 a minimum of five business days before digging. The service is FREE and available 24/7.
