The GM CAMI Assembly plant raised an impressive $517,602 for the United Way this year. Up a few hundred dollars from last years' donation. "Every year, they never cease to amaze me. The spirit and generosity here at the CAMI Assembly Plant and CAW Local 88 members is unparalleled. They believe in supporting the community, they believe in supporting others, especially those less fortunate, and it shows in spades with their annual United Way campaign," said Executive Director for the United Way of Oxford Kelly Gilson. CAW Local 88 Plant Chair Mike VanBoekel says around 80% of CAMI employees donate to the organization. "It's fantastic how much our membership reacts every single time and how much they give," said VanBoekel. The half a million dollars will help with poverty, building the health of the community, and mentoring youth.
