INGERSOLL - The CAMI plant in Ingersoll is going to be shut down until March.
A part shortage is to blame for the shutdown. Specifically they are out of semi-conductors, which is needed for all of the vehicle made at CAMI. On the Unifor Local 88 web site, a memo to employees indicates the layoff will last until at least mid march.
No date has been confirmed for when the plant may re-open. CAMI made headlines earlier this year when it was announced the plant will shift towards making electric vans.
