Offensive Coordinator Jaimen Allison credits the team's defense and their fifth year players.
WOODSTOCK - College Avenue Secondary School has become the first ever Oxford County senior football team to win the Thames Valley Central Division.
Yesterday in the championship game, CASS took on Clarke Road Secondary School, who had outscored their opponents 183-13 throughout the year, and won 37-13. The game had great support from fans for both teams.
To reach the final, CASS defeated an undefeated team 7-0. Offensive Coordinator Jaimen Allison credits the team's defense and their fifth year players.
The Knights gave up their first touchdown since week two in the final game with the offense on the field due to a fumble recovery.
Allison is also the head coach of the junior team, who won the consolation championship. He believes they improved a lot throughout the season, and that the future of the program looks bright.
"The best part is the whole team comes back next year, minus a couple key fifth year guys, so we plan on being pretty strong going forward. We have a group of about 11 coaches between staff and community coaches and we do something pretty unique. We run joint practices so juniors are learning our system, they're learning fundamentals together."
College Ave has seen an influx of kids coming to play football as it's the only school in the city offering it.
