Brant OPP launched an investigation after eyewitness reports of a tractor theft.

BURFORD - The Brant OPP have made one arrest following a tractor theft from a farm in Burford.

On Friday March 7th, a witness noticed suspicious activity on their neighbours farm. They made a call to police when they saw two individuals removing a tractor from a storage container.

The OPP launched an investigation from there. The property owner verified that they had not given permission for the removal of the tractor.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man from Norwich connected to the theft. He has been charged with: theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, and failure to comply with a prohibition order. Some of the charges are indictable and could result prison time.

The investigation continues as police look for other suspects.
