Carbon monoxide believed to have claimed three lives in Brampton.
Three people are dead after carbon monoxide was found in their Brampton home.
According to police, a 60 year-old man, his 59 year-old wife and their 36 year-old son were killed after the poisonous gas leaked into their home.
Two others were taken to the hospital but are believed to have suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Reports indicate that a sixth person who lived at the home found the five others unconscious around 2:00 am. Officials say a CO alarm was sounding when the person arrived home.
It is believed propane heaters being used in the house, after a furnace broke down, may be the cause.
In 2008, the Hawkins family were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning in their Woodstock home which was caused by a blocked vent in the gas fireplace.
