An update on the zoning dispute over Personal Services Coffee: Thursday night, city council voted against granting a zone change to the retailer that is operating in an industrial building. The Owners of the store now have 20-days to appeal the decision to the Ontario Municipal Board. They would still be able to operate during the time it takes for the appeal to be heard by the OMB. Mayor Pat Sobeski says if they choose not to appeal, further dialog will commence with the city. "If they don't appeal, at that point in time the city will work with them to determine how long they'd be in their present location, some sort of a transition period that would be say 90-days or 120-days." Another option that has been discussed is for the owners of the store to seek a temporary permit to continue to operate for a length of time negotiated with the city. We'll keep you up to date on the situation.
