At least a few residents in Ingersoll are getting their mail delivered door to door by Canada Post right now
INGERSOLL - A community mail box in Ingersoll has been closed off to the public because of a safety concern.
Canada Post has put caution tape around the mail box at the intersection of Pine and Kerwin Street. Canada Post spokesperson Amick Losier tells Heart FM they hope to have the problem solved quickly.
"I know that the local teams are currently working on it, it should take a couple of weeks so I don't have a specific date as to when the work will be completed, but we will certainly be letting the impacted residents know when the problem is fixed and they will have to go back to getting their mail from the community mail box."
For the time being the residents impacted by the shut down will have their mail delivered door to door. The community mail box was shut down because of safety concerns for people trying to access their mail and Canada Post has had a few problems across the Country with some of the mail boxes not being safe to access the mail. This is the only case in Oxford County. If you have a safety concern with your community mail box, you can contact Canada Post at 1-844-454-3009.
