EAST ZORRA-TAVISTOCK - The Highway 59 and Oxford Road 33 intersection is going to be quite busy over the next week.
County construction crews will be installing new safety features starting tomorrow including a four-way stop, red flashing lights, rumble strips coming from all directions, and a new 60-kilometre per hour speed limit.
You can find the project schedule below:
Tuesday June 13th to Friday June 16th - 60 kilometre speed limit begins within 500 metres from the intersection coming from all directions. Electronic speed feedback signs also be installed.
Monday June 19th - New lines will be painted on Highway 59 and Oxford Road 33.
Tuesday June 20th - New four-way stop takes effect. Police will be on site enforcing it while the signs are installed. Red flashing lights will also be installed.
Wednesday June 21st - Rumble strips will be installed, so drivers will hear a loud noise and feel a vibration when they approach the intersection.
London Police and OPP officers will be on site from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. tomorrow, continuing to investigate the fatal crash between an OPP cruiser and a school bus on Monday May 29th.
