Bikers remember, you can be ticketed for failed road safety too. A cyclist was charged for riding on a sidewalk and not wearing his helmet this afternoon. The 16-year-old was biking south on the east sidewalk of Cedar St. when his bike struck a van attempting to turn right from Connaught Street. The man driving the van was charged with unsafely starting from a stop. The cyclist was taken to the Woodstock Hospital to be treated for a possible broken leg.
