Registration is now open for the first in-person Dairy Capital Run in two years. It will takeover Discovery Farm Woodstock on Saturday May 27th.
WOODSTOCK - The Dairy Capital Run is returning to the Friendly City, and it's coming back in full force as an in-person event!
The family-friendly event combines physical activity and community involvement to support healthcare facilities in the Friendly City. All proceeds raised during the day will stay in our community and go directly towards upgrading technology and equipment at the Woodstock Hospital.
Jocelyn Jenner, Senior Development Manager for the Woodstock Hospital Foundation, explains that funding doesn't always come from Federal support.
"I [don't] think that a lot of people realize that [technology] isn't supported by the government. We rely on events and individual donors to support the hospital so that we can buy new equipment. It is very important, and that's exactly what Dairy Capital Run will be supporting this year. New equipment for the hospital."
Organizers are making a few changes this year. The Dairy Capital Run is going to take place on Saturday, May 27th. A change from their regular Sunday fundraiser. They will also be hosting the run at a new location; Discovery Farm Woodstock, home of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show.
All participants are encouraged to embrace the theme of the run and come decked out in your dairy costumes. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed.
