Police say someone placed mattresses on the tracks last night near the 37th line in Zorra Township. The mattresses actually became stuck under a passing train and the road had to be closed for clean up.
ZORRA TOWNSHIP - A dangerous case of mischief on the CP railway tracks near the 37th line in Zorra Township.
Police say someone placed mattresses on the tracks last night around 11:30. The mattresses actually became stuck under a passing train.
Roads were closed due the train being stopped, blocking 21st Line and 15th Line, while the mattresses were dislodged from under the train and cleaned away from the tracks. Oxford OPP Detachment Commander says this was out right dangerous.
"Those who have a complete disregard for the safety and well-being of our citizens can be assured that a focus will be placed on you. The identity of the person(s) responsible for this dangerous act, is a priority as the OPP continues every effort in keeping our communities safe."
