The Woodstock Fire Department has some reminders for everyone before the clocks fall back one hour on Sunday.
WOODSTOCK - Daylight Saving Time is about to end, so the clocks will be going back one hour.
The time change will be happening early Sunday morning, so you might have to adjust some of the clocks in your home.
While you're doing this, the Woodstock Fire Department would also like you to check your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Public Information Coordinator Lisa Woods says you should change the batteries and check the date it was manufactured.
"All smoke and carbon monoxide alarms only last for 10 years and then they need to be replaced, regardless of whether they're hardwired or battery operated. So we would really appreciate it if individuals would check their homes and make sure they have up-to-date and working alarms."
Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms have to be outside all of the sleeping areas in the home. You also have to have a smoke alarm on every level.
Woods says you should also go over your emergency escape plan.
"So each room of the house typically would have two ways out, a primary way and a secondary way. The primary would be the doorway and the second could potentially be a window. We want to know where they would be going first to get outside safely to a meeting place."
Woods recommends practicing that escape plan this weekend, so everyone knows what to do.
