
OPP are devastated over the fatal collisions and speed charges distributed throughout the Canada Day weekend
ORILLIA - OPP had a tragic Canada Day weekend with five people dying in collisions.
Two of the fatal collisions involved motorcyclists. One of the motorcycle crashes in Dorchester with 26 year old Eric Dye losing his life. The weekend collisions brings the total number of deaths on OPP patrolled roads to 113 for the year. Speed remains to be the leading factor with 31 deaths attributed to the driving behaviour.
Officers also laid out more than 5 800 speeding charges across the provinces.
