NORFOLK COUNTY - Norfolk County OPP say a 56 year old driver had to take evasive action to avoid hitting 5 teenagers on Sunday afternoon.
Constable Ed Sanchuk says it appears the teens were playing chicken on Norfolk County Road 23.
"It appears that the teenagers would sit on the roadway and then move at the last moment as vehicles approached, ultimately playing a game of chicken with the motoring public. This not only put there lives in danger, it also puts unsuspecting drivers and passengers in the vehicle in danger."
Sanchuk says the good news is, that nobody was injured in this senseless act. He is asking parents to talk to your kids about just how dangerous this act was.
"So on behalf of the Sanchuk family and the OPP family, when we get home tonight, let's make sure we sit down and talk to our kids, grand kids and nieces and nephews and let them know how dangerous this activity can be. I can't even imagine what this driver went through, having to take evasive action to avoid hitting 5 teenagers on the road."
