Collisions involving OPP cruisers on Saturday ends in charges.
It was a bad weekend for crashes involving OPP cruisers in Oxford County. But it's going to be a bad week for the drivers involved, as they've now been charged with careless driving.
Both crashes happened in Saturday's snowstorm on the westbound 401.
The first incident, at 7:30 a.m., saw a cruiser hit while parked on the side of the highway, responding to another crash. The female officer was in her cruiser when it was hit. 26-year-old Hayatullah Karimi has been charged with careless driving in that incident.
At 5:30 Saturday afternoon, a cruiser was hit on the 401 near Blenheim Rd. 37-year-old Krisztian Czene of Woodstock is charged with careless driving in that collision.
Luckily in both incidents, only minor injuries were involved.
But it did lead to closures of the westbound lanes for several hours for clean-up.
