Smoke billowed across the 401 after a corn field fire just outside of Woodstock. Fire crews from Woodstock responded to the blaze on Saturday afternoon. Nobody was injured and the fire spread to about 50 acres of the cornfield. The fire will have minimal impact to the farmer who will still be able to plant their crop in the field. Woodstock Fire did call in for some help from Innerkip and Princeton to help battle the blaze. The extreme heat and strong winds helped the fire to spread quickly and crews had to work fast to keep it contained to the 50 acres.
