The Woodstock Fire Department will be delivering pizza's and preaching fire safety at local businesses all week.
WOODSTOCK - It is Fire Prevention Week.
Locally you will see the Woodstock Fire Department preaching fire safety at locally businesses all week. Fire inspector Brian Egan says they will also be out delivering pizza's once again this year.
"We will have some lucky winners this week, if we go to your house when you have ordered pizza and everything checks out in terms of smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, that they are up to date, less than 10 years old, in the right locations, then the pizza's will be on us."
Egan says they will be doing the deliveries randomly with different pizza shops. If your house is not equipped with the proper alarms, they will make sure you have what you need, but you will need to pay for your pizza.
Fire Prevention Officer Lukasz Kasprzyk says the theme this year is to learn the sounds of fire safety.
"We will be active in the community, this week, encouraging people to learn the sounds of fire safety, we will have booths set up at local stores all week."
Kasprzyk says the department is also hosting a contest and you can enter by taking photo's of you checking your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and tagging the local fire department. You can tag the fire department on twitter or Facebook to enter the contest or email them at fire@cityofwoodstock.ca.
