The public is invited to get a look at the new state of the art Thamesford Fire Hall at an open house this weekend.
THAMESFORD - The public is invited to the ribbon cutting and open house of the brand new Fire Hall in Thamesford.
Firefighters will move into the new facility later this week and the grand opening is happening on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Fire Chief for Zorra Township John McFarland tells Heart FM everyone is pumped to move into the new digs.
"We're pretty excited - state of the art facility that we are moving into. It's got the latest as far of training technology in it, it's going to be a nice spot for us to move forward."
McFarland adds the hall will also serve as the emergency operations centre for the Township of Zorra. McFarland says they are inviting the public to the ribbon cutting and open house on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. Those who come will get to hear a couple of presentations and they will get a tour of the new facility.
"We have a couple of presentations that will be made at that point in time as well, but basically it is going to be an open house from 1-3 in the afternoon. The trucks will be there and all of the firefighters will be there as well, so it is a great chance for the public to come out and check out the new facility."
