Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Oxford County.
OXFORD - We're in for a scorcher of a week here in Oxford County.
Environment Canada says we can expect daytime highs between 30 and 35, but it will feel more like the low 40s with the humidity. We'll have little relief from the heat overnight with expected lows between 20 and 23, feeling more like the high 20s.
A heat warning is in effect so make sure you drink lots of water and stay in a cool place whenever you can. You should never leave people or pets in a vehicle, especially when it's this hot outside.
Seniors, young children, pregnant mothers, people with disabilities, and those with a physical or mental illness could face a higher health risk in the extreme heat.
Southwestern Public Health issued its own heat warning on Friday. You can find more information regarding heat-related illnesses and local cooling centres online here.
