Ford telling school boards "they're not the experts."
Premier Doug Ford is telling school boards to stick to the province's decision to drop mandatory masking.
Several boards say they would like to keep requirements beyond the province's end date of March 21st, with some even voting to ask the province for permission to extend mandates in their schools.
During a press briefing today on an unrelated matter, Ford said school boards are "not the experts", and they should follow the direction of Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore.
"Our expectations to the school boards, with the exception of the parents that want their kids to put masks on, follow the direction of the chief medical officer. Plain and simple."
Several boards say masks will be "strongly encouraged" after the mandate ends.
