Police are searching for a woman after a local senior had their gold necklace stolen right from their neck.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police Service are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a female suspect involved in the theft of a gold necklace.
The theft happened on Saturday afternoon in the area of the Woodstock Transit Terminal.
The senior was approached by a woman who asked her to purchase some jewellery. When the senior refused, the woman then placed a necklace around the victims neck. The victim asked the suspect to remove the necklace at which time the suspect removed a gold necklace which the victim had already been wearing.
The stolen necklace is gold with a gold and diamond cross pendant and has a great deal of sentimental value to the victim. Police are looking for a south Asian woman about 5'2 weighing 130 pounds.
She was wearing a long dark coloured coat, silk scarf, white knitted toque and spoke broken English and drove a early model Hyundai Santa Fe with black on top with grey on the bottom and tinted rear windows.
