A proposed Virtual Net Metering Demonstration Project in Oxford County is being backed by Greenpeace.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County's proposed Virtual Net Metering Demonstration Project is being backed by one of the most well known environmental organizations out there; Greenpeace.
The province's Net Metering Program allows consumers to produce their own renewable energy on site. Those who produce excess energy can also send it over to the grid in order to receive a credit on their next energy bill.
Warden David Mayberry believes
"We are willing to demonstrate for them so they can feel a little more comfortable in developing their policies."
The Virtual Net Metering Demonstration Project would help the province create an official policy.
